Applied Psychology Courses

The applied nature of our psychology courses means that you can focus on how psychology is used in the real world, to inform policy and practice and more generally work to enhance people’s experiences. All of our staff are registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and are research active so their teaching is informed by the most up to date research and projects in their area.

The University of Cumbria has provided students with high quality training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for many years. We have excellent working relationships with our clinical partners in Lancashire and Cumbria in supporting students in the development of CBT practice. Studying with us gives you the chance to learn alongside caring, committed and experienced professionals.

Physiotherapy Courses

Our Physiotherapy programmes are an extremely popular option among those wishing to pursue a career as a physiotherapist in a variety of NHS, education, private, voluntary and independent environments. Just short of 94% of our current students are satisfied with their course and 92% are in a graduate role or further training within six months of graduating*.

Social Work Courses

Qualified Social Workers are much in demand and work with vulnerable people, children and families. Our professional degrees allow you to register as a social worker upon qualification with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) under the Care Standards Act, 2000.
